Sharpen Your Shears

Bridge the Gap Between the Haircare Industry and Wounded Warrior Project! Paul Brown Hawaii launches the first Shear Appreciation, a two month-long fundraiser from September 11 through November 11th. The campaign honors service members who risked their lives for the safety and freedom of our country.

Get involved, sharpen your shears and help to raise money for those service members who have returned home with the mental and physical wounds of war. Every effort and donation counts. Whether $5, $10, $25, or $100, each gift makes a huge difference to helping wounded service members and their families.

To further encourage efforts, Paul Brown Hawaii will help you host raffles, cut-a-thons and other fund-raising events by contributing complimentary products to participating salons.

We are challenging ourselves to help WWP reach this vision, but we need your help. Please join our effort and give what you can by donating or register if you're interested in participating in the Shear Appreciation fund-raiser Sept. 11-Nov. 11. Thank you in advance for your support!

Wounded Warrior Project

  • Wounded Warrior Project serves veterans and service members who incurred physical or mental injury, illness during their military service on or after September 11, 2001.
  • With advancements in battlefield medicine and body armor, an unprecedented percentage of service members are surviving severe wounds or injuries.
  • In addition to the physical wounds, it is estimaged as many as 400,000 service members live with the invisible wounds of war including depression, post traumatic stress disorrder and combat-related stress. Another 320,00 are believed to have experience a traumatic brain injury while on deployment.
  • Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) began when several veterans and friends, moved by stories of the first wounded service members returning home from Afghanistan and Iraq, took action to help others in need.
  • What started as a desire to provide comfort items to wounded service members at Walter Reed Army Medical Center has grown into a holistic rehabilitative effort to assist warriors with visible and invisible wounds as they recover and transition back to civilian life.
  • Tens of thousands of wounded service members, their families, and caregivers receive support each year through WWP programs. To learn more about this worthy cause, visit
